Facial massage can help reduce the wrinkles of the face because it promotes good circulation thus improving nutrients’ exchange, it lifts and tightens the facial muscles, it makes puffiness disappear and it also releases endorphins. However, it is important to make sure that the massage is performed properly.
Circular Massage Method
The best thing about this method is that it is very effective and you can practice it at home as well. Cleanse your face and hands and apply a lotion on the skin.
Massage the areas that are the most prone to wrinkling using circular motions. Perform the massage for about 20 minutes.
This is another massage method that you could use at home to keep the wrinkles at bay and to invigorate the skin. You simply have to lean forward and pat the skin with the bottom side of the fingers. Perform the massage for 15-20 minutes.
Moisturize and Massage
For moisturizing you can use a lotion or natural oil, such as apricot kernel oil or jojoba oil. Put the oil in your hands and rub them together. Run the hands upwards on the cheekbones until you reach the temples. Rub one of the palms along the forehead in both directions.
Acupressure Point Massage
This might be one of the best techniques to avoid wrinkles. The most important acupressure points are located on the eyes’ inner orbit, at the temples, at the end of the eyebrows, under the nose and besides the nostrils. The massage consists in pressing these points to increase blood flow.
In order to get rid of the wrinkles around the mouth you should have a palm placed on each cheek and use zigzag movements to massage the area around the mouth. You may also cup your hands around the chin and lift upwards with fast and light movements.
There are some yoga poses as well that could help you with your wrinkle problem. Just kneel down and put your arms in your lap. Keep your back straight, open your mouth and bring your tongue out. Keep the tongue in the same position, hold your breath, open your eyes, and expose your teeth. Hold position as long as you can. Rest and repeat the position.
