One of the most taken for granted part of the woman’s body are her hands, no matter how much anti-ageing creams and products you use onto your face to fight off wrinkles, if you fail to take care of your hands, they will reveal your true age.
So to age gracefully, extra care should be spent pampering your overworked hands; otherwise they will look dry, thin, wrinkled, veiny and dull; all signs of aging hands.
There are three simple ways to help fight aging hands and they are:
- To moisturize at every chance you have. Use hand creams and lotions especially designed for the skin of your hands. Place them in small containers and always include it in your purse. Place moisturizer bottles at strategic places of your house, like the kitchen sink and bathroom, where you can easily grab them and apply onto your hands.
- To exfoliate twice or thrice in a week, just like what you do to your face to remove dead skin cells, your hands need this type of pampering as well. A homemade recipe of lemon juice, glycerin and rose water can make your hands look vibrant.
- Remember to use sun protection, especially if you are out directly under the sun. It might be less of a hassle if your hand moisturizer already contains the SPF, so you can apply it as often as you can.
When your hands are too damaged, here’s an easy overnight procedure you can do:
Before bedtime, wash your hands thoroughly using Dove beauty bar, which has extra moisturizers to bring back the hydration on your hands.
Do not dry your hands thoroughly. Sprinkle 1 to 2 teaspoons of baking soda onto your hands and massage it for 2 to 3 minutes. Baking soda is an excellent for exfoliation. Then rinse your hands thoroughly.
Use the towel to blot off excess water, do not rub. Use the towel to gently push your cuticles to make it look neat.
While your hands are damp, apply a generous amount of petroleum jelly to help seal the moisture. Then cover your hands with cloth gloves or a clean pair of socks and let it stay overnight.
Wake up to a softer, younger looking pair of hands!
