Immune System Disorders in Children

Immune system disorders in children are caused by low or high activity of the immune system. If the immune system is too active, it could attack the healthy cells of the body while if it isn’t active enough, the child can be affected by infections.

Allergies

This is known as an allergic reaction that involves breathing problems, rash, nasal congestion, eye irritation, vomiting and nausea.

Asthma

The children with asthma have periodic episodes that make it difficult for them to breathe. It is also possible for the problem to be doubled by an inflammation of the airways.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Lupus

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

This condition affects the intestines leading to rectal bleeding, diarrhea, abdominal pain, urgent bowel movements, fever, pain in the abdomen, and weight loss. In order to treat the condition children need immune suppressing medication.

Multiple Sclerosis

As a result of this problem, the immune system attacks the nerves which lead to blindness, pain, poor coordination, or muscle spasms. In order to treat multiple sclerosis there is need to use medication that suppresses the immune system.

There are a lot of different kinds of immune system disorders in children that your child could have. To minimize the damage done by them it is important to recognize the problem as soon as possible and to take measures to keep the condition under control.
