Face masks have been part of beauty regimen of women since olden days.
Homemade face masks are used to clean the skin naturally.
Depending on your skin type, various ingredients are used in the face masks.
Clay face mask! Clay is an important material used in homemade face mask as it is an excellent absorbing agent.
To get sticking property to the clays, gums and polymers are added.
It helps in removing the sebum, dead skin and dirt so that your skin looks clean, soft and youthful.
Fuller’s earth is a kind of clay often used in homemade face masks. It contains aluminium silicate. It absorbs the dead cells and blots up excessive oil on the skin when dried on the skin.
As it blocks the oil on the skin, it can be used for oily skin but not on dry skin. Kaolin is fine clay when used on the skin removes dirt, oil and dead cells.
Peel off homemade face mask! It is a gel based mask. It removes dead cells from the top layer of the skin, leaving behind fresh and youthful skin. Peel off masks brightens up dull complexion.
Bran and oatmeal are commonly used peelers. The masks should be peeled off from the chin and lifted upwards.
Oatmeal is rich in vitamin B and E. You get youthful appearance with oatmeal because it removes superficial dead skin from the surface of the skin.
Moisturizing homemade face mask for normal skin! Mash half avocado pear and add one teaspoon of sunflower oil. Apply the mixture to the neck and face leaving the eye and lip area. Leave the pack for ten minutes and wash it off with warm water.
Anti-aging homemade face mask for wrinkled skin! This is used every alternate day. Take two tablespoons of oatmeal with half cup of milk and cook gently until it becomes soft.
With two teaspoons of olive oil, stir and beat together. Allow the mixture to cool and then apply it to face and neck. Leave it for twenty to twenty five minutes and wash it off with warm water.
Oily skin homemade face mask! Beat one egg white until it becomes thick and mix one teaspoon of honey. Add one teaspoon of lemon juice finally. Apply gently to face and neck leaving the delicate areas like eyes and lips. Leave it for ten minutes and wash it off with warm water.
Firming mask! Firming mask comes in cream or gel form. It is massaged into the contours of your face. This mask firms up the flesh on your face. These types of masks are used by aged women whose skin is losing its elasticity.
Radiance mask! It uses vitamins and light diffusers to add glow to dull and lifeless skin. The skin is moisturized and toned to look young and smooth. Your complexion appears glowing and luminous.
Dry skin homemade face mask! Beat one egg white until it becomes thick and add one teaspoon of honey and sunflower oil. Apply on the face for twenty minutes and wash it off with warm water.
