Rainy season may seem to be a beautiful time of the year but it can lead to many problems like frizzy hair and oily skin. The sticky weather not only leads to other skin conditions like pimples but also makes your face look oily all the time. Dirt and moisture mix together and can harm our skin in more ways than one.

Thankfully, there are some ways in which you can prevent oily skin and look beautiful and fresh every day.  The following are the best ways and tips to keep the oil away from your skin, day in and day out.

ways to prevent oily skin during rainy season

1. Cleanse your Skin Everyday

One of the best ways to keep that oil off is to clean and cleanse your skin properly. Washing your skin twice a day is advisable but too much of it can also increase oiliness and acne. Use a mild gel based face wash which does not affect the skin negatively and retains the natural moisture on the face.  You can also use some of the homemade or natural remedies such as use a papaya pulp face mask or an oatmeal scrub.

2. Tone your Skin after Cleansing

Cleansing alone isn’t enough. It has to be backed up by toning of your skin as well.  Toning of facial skin helps to maintain the pH balance and avoids microbes and germs from sticking in.  You should use a good quality and an effective anti-bacterial toner after you clean and wash your face. You can also create your own toner by mixing a few drops of lavender oil with water at home.  This can be applied with the help of cotton.

3. Moisturization of the Skin

The 3rd step that comes after cleansing and toning is moisturizing. It is true that it is humid outside but even then you need to moisturize your skin to avoid it from going dry and dehydrated.  You can use a soft and mild moisturizer on your skin after toning. You can mix this with rosewater for an even better result. Do this before going to bed every day and you will be able to deal with oily skin condition during rains in a much better way.

4. Scrub or Exfoliate your Skin Often

Another thing that you will need to do during the rainy season is to exfoliate it. Scrubbing is absolutely essential to remove the dead skin cells. There are many homemade scrubs that can be prepared easily and one of them that really works well is a mixture of baking soda, cinnamon powder, lemon juice and honey. Mix these together and apply the resultant paste onto your face twice a week and you will notice a considerable decrease in oiliness.

5. Tightening Mask

Mud packs are also very useful for oily skin during the rainy season. You can use a fuller earth’s mud pack by adding a pinch of turmeric powder for a natural glow. Apply this and leave for 20 minutes twice a week for a beautiful skin even during humid season.
