Skin problems can occur to every second person you see around; however all of them are not really serious that would require harsh drugs and severe treatment. Learn about some of the common skin problems that can make you nervous with its look and also about its cure. If you keep your skin and diet healthy, it will definitely rule out such skin disorders and prevent any aggravation; but in some cases these can occur due to genetic reasons or the environment as well. This is a very common skin issue for people who loves to sunbathe and spend most of their time under the direct sun rays. The skin gets reddened and itchy; the symptoms can be prevented by taking frequent cool baths, using sun protection cream, hydrating and moisturising the skin frequently, using cool milk compress or washing the area with mint and tea solution.

Skin Blisters

These are small pocket of fluid under the first layer of the skin, they can occur anywhere on the skin due to burning, freezing, constant rubbing, friction or chemical exposure. Some infections can bring blisters that need immediate medical attention; while other common blisters can be treated by using aloe vera gel, apple cider vinegar, diaper rash cream, underarm deodorant etc.

Itchy Skin

Scientifically called Pruritis, itchy skin can simply be caused by excessively dry skin or other skin disorders. Firstly, you can try out the simple remedies to cure the condition; if they show no real results do consult a doctor. Use anti itch creams, baking soda and oatmeal bath, juniper berries, lemon juice, and aloe vera juice to sooth itchy skin.


Skin bruises are hematoma of tissues, where the capillaries or venules get damaged by trauma leading to haemorrhage and the blood to seep down. Immediately give ice compress, wrap the area with elastic bandage, and try to reduce the blood flow to the bruised area to prevent discoloration of skin. Bruises are nothing to worry until any of the internal body part is damaged. If you experience excruciating pain along with a bruise do visit a doctor immediately.

Scalp Problems

Dandruff, lice, cradle cap, psoriasis, ringworm, lichen planus are just some of the scalp problems that most of us face and are very common. You can opt for their cure at home if they are not severe. To reduce dandruff, use lemon juice, anti dandruff shampoo that has ingredients like coal tar, Salicylic acid, Selenium sulphide, Ketoconazole etc. Cradle cap can be treated by gentle head massage with mineral oil to loosen the scalp coats. To treat lice, neem paste would be the best natural remedy; however you can also try out shampoos having pyrethrin (Rid), permethrin (Nix), or spinosad (Natroba).

Skin Cysts, Lumps and Bumps

Everyone is not blessed with skin smooth as silk; there can be little lumps and bumps here and there. Most of the time, they are harmless and subside with time. Cysts are noncancerous, enclosed pockets filled with tissues, pus, fluid or other material.

Cherry Angioma, dermatofibrioma, folliculitis are some common types of skin lumps and bumps that can be easily removed surgically; they can also be treated in a number of natural ways, but you should consult the doctor first to identify the inflammation first and then look for the treatment.

There are many more common skin problems like Paronychia (nail infection), teenage acne, seborrhoeic dermatitis, pilar cysts, scabies, skin rashes, eczema, psoriasis, abscesses, boils, anal skin tags, chilblains etc that does not indicate any serious illness and can be cured with easy ways and also natural remedies.
