In case you are thinking about exfoliating your feet you should make sure that you have time to properly do it and you aren’t in a hurry. It is important to use high quality tools and materials for the best results. Also you should make sure that the exfoliation is gentle.

Step one
Start with pouring some warm water, not hot water, into a basin. After every sixth cup of water that you add, you should add a cup of milk. This is a natural exfoliating agent that also nourishes the skin. Soak the feet in the water for 20 minutes. This way the lactic acid of the milk will be able to soften the skin.
Step two
Once you are done with the soaking, remove your feet from the water and pat them dry. Then use a scrub that was especially created for the feet. These products contain granulated ingredients, like Dead Sea Salt, crushed nut powders or sugar. These gently loosen and remove the dead skin.
After applying the scrub you should gently massage it into the skin through circular motions. You should work more with the places where the skin is especially rough. This is usually the case of the heels and of the big toes.
Step three
After you are done with the scrub, you should rinse it off. For the day you should apply some non-greasy lotion on the feet, but if you do the exfoliation before going to sleep, apply some rich foot cream. Then pull on a pair of socks, locking in the moisture this way.
When on the rush
If you don’t have much time for exfoliation, you should use a diamond file or pumice stone instead. Use these to scrub the roughest parts of your feet before you go into the shower. Remember that the diamond files work best with dry skin so you shouldn’t use them while showering.
Foot cream
If you use a scrum on a regular basis, you should also apply a rich foot cream to make sure that your feet will always be supple and hydrated. Tea tree oil extract invigorate the skin, while shea butter moisturizes the skin.
Tools
There are several different products especially designed for exfoliation. These include the pumice stone, foot scrubs and exfoliation creams. These creams are like the regular exfoliating creams, but they offer a little extra to help the tired and worn feet.
