Best Tips for the Perfect Spray Tan

When you think about getting a spray tan, you should know that it is better than spending time in the sun and it can get you ready for the bikini season. However, there are some traps and if you don’t get things right you could end up with a very strange look.
Exfoliation
The best thing you can do is to exfoliate your skin the night before the appointment. Make sure that you use a water-based exfoliant. Also you could use a washcloth, loofah, salt or sugar based scrub. It is alright for the scrub to have some essential oils, but your skin shouldn’t get too oily.
Being on time
It is important to arrive in time for your appointment. If you happen to be late, you should tell your specialist in advance.
There are some things that you shouldn’t wear to your appointment to achieve the best results.
These include deodorant, jewelry, perfume and makeup. They could all leave spots on your skin.
Clothing
When preparing for your appointment, you should know that there is a ‘dress code’. The best clothes you could wear are the loose fitting ones in dark colors and it is wise to wear slides or flip-flops. This is because the tight fitting clothes could take the tan off.
What to bring
Most probably you are also interested in what you should bring to your appointment. You should have with you an old bathing suit or generic garment. This is because the tan could also get on these and for sure you don’t want to ruin your new bathing suit.
Talking to the specialist
Before the appointment, you should talk to your specialist. You should mention if you happen to have very dry skin patches, wounds, abraded or broken skin or any kinds of allergies.
Showing skin
You should also decide with your technician if you would like to be topless during the session or completely nude. Actually the question is whether you mind if there will be a white spot where the underwear covers you.
Sweat
If you sweat on your way to the salon, you should ask for a dry cloth and dry yourself before the tanning begins. This is important because if your skin is wet when the tanning spray is applied you could end up with spots.
Now you know how to have the perfect spray tan session so make sure you get ready for it.
